PACTCooking is one of our most popular community service projects, designed to give youth, ages 13-21, the opportunity to obtain practical culinary skills and learn about nutrition, food safety, while also give back to the community. It provides a team-building, skills-based learning environment and a strong community-service component.
In the introductory course, youth learn to prepare different cuisines from around the world. They prepare, cook and share a meal together as well as make extras that are donated to local food banks and feeding programs.
The intermediate, more advanced curriculum allows youth to continue to build leadership and confidence while learning more advanced culinary skills such as cutting, cooking over the stove, sampling and adjusting recipes and kitchen teamwork. This program is best for teens who have some experience in the kitchen.
PACTCooking is free for youth ages 13-21. Visit our program schedule page for more details and to see upcoming start dates.
